How long will your insurance cover me for?
All of our public liability insurance policies are annual. If you are looking for a shorter period of cover please indicate your requirements on the proposal forms or speak to one of our advisors on 0845 120 6400 who will be able to advise your further.
How quick can I get a quotation?
Once the proposal forms have been submitted you can expect a response within 24 hours at the absolute latest, usually much sooner. For personal trainers and sports coaches a quote should come through the instant you complete the forms, provided we are satisfied with your answers to the questions. If you have not received a quote within 24 hours please contact one of our advisors on 0845 120 6400. *Please note quotes for club insurance including building and contents may take up to 48 hours.
Can you offer cover for multiple sports?
Yes providing you note all the sports on the proposal forms. We will base our quote around your requirements.
Can I take out insurance with you even if I am not qualified?
Generally speaking we only insure individuals who hold relevant qualifications. However there are exceptions to this rule, if you can demonstrate experience in a particular sport or activity or hold additional qualifications we may be able to assist. Please feel free to fill in our online proposal forms and one of our advisors will respond to you within 24 hours.
What level of public liability should I take out?
This really depends on your own circumstances and requirements and is a decision we are not in a position to influence. We offer public liability insurance from £1m to £10m depending on the level of indemnity you require. For example, a school may require you to have a £5m level of indemnity in which case you will need this in order to satisfy their criteria. We are able to upgrade your level of indemnity during the period of insurance subject to an additional premium.
Can I amend my policy at any time?
Yes, that’s absolutely fine, we appreciate that circumstances can change. It’s important that you notify us of any changes that may affect your insurance immediately by calling us on 0845 120 6400.
Are you able to cove me abroad?
Our public liability policies provide insurance within the UK. It may be possible to extend your cover for business abroad, provided you note the details down on our proposal forms. Unfortunately we are unable to provide annual public liability insurance for individuals or businesses based outside the UK.
Is there a cooling off period?
Yes, should you change your mind or wish to cancel your policy for whatever reason we offer a full refund within the 14 days of purchase provided no claim has been made.
I run a sports business but am unsure whether I require employers liability?
It’s a requirement by law that a business holds employers’ liability insurance for staff employed under a contract of service or apprenticeship (i.e. whether paid staff or volunteers). If an individual does not exclusively work for you, for example you use self employed coaches, then we will consider these as sub-contractors and therefore you will not be required to cover them under employer’s liability. However they will need to have their own public liability insurance of at least £2m and it’s your responsibility to ensure this is the case. If you fail to do this and a claim was made against your business this could invalidate your insurance. Can I add an employee onto my public liability insurance?
Not a problem, although we will require some further information in order to add them onto your policy and an additional premium will be required. Please contact one of our advisors on 0845 120 6400 who will be happy to assist.
When do I get my insurance documents?
We will email your insurance details immediately after purchase to the address provided on your proposal forms. Please ensure this email address is correct or your documents will not reach you successfully.
What is the process for making a claim?
In the first instance please contact us on 0845 120 6400 and we will instruct you further.
Who are you underwritten by?
Our insurance policies are underwritten by Marketform at Lloyd’s syndicate 2468.
